Whole Foods, Avian Edition

I was rather relieved that the hawk didn't catch anything. Quinn, like most 4 year olds, is beginning to incorporate death into his play, but it's typically not of the feathers-flying, blood-and-guts variety.
Besides, nightmares involving birds already run in the family. As a kid, my brother was plagued by a recurring dream in which he was chased by a 20-foot tall ptarmigan.
Quinn and I watched a red-tailed hawk eye our bird feeder from it's "hidden" perch on our neighbor's basketball hoop. Bird feeder, indeed.
