Four Going on Eighty

by Unknown

Me: Quinn, do you want your stool so that you can reach?
Q (Shakes head slowly, makes clicking sound with tongue): No, I only needed that back in the old days.
Me: The old days?
Q: Yes, way back when I was three.
Me: You mean, three weeks ago?
Q: Yeah. Those were the good old days.
That story is incredibly cute. Oh that we all had the temporal perspective of a four-year old.
It's definitely cuter than our bit of preschool temporal perspective, in which "tomorrow" is synonymous with indefinite deferral.
